COVID: Venezuela confirms 615 new cases in the last 24 hours

Venezuela registered 615 confirmed cases of Covid-19, of which 558 correspond to community transmissions and 57 to cases coming from Colombia (55), which maintains 80% of imported cases, and Brazil (2), as reported the Minister for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez.

Through his Twitter account @LuchaAlmada, the minister pointed out that “the community cases are distributed as follows: 96 cases from Zulia state, 80 from the Capital District, 77 from Táchira state, 65 from Miranda, 61 from Yaracuy, 56 from La Guaira, 48 from Lara, 19 from Barinas, 17 from Aragua, 12 from Carabobo, 10 from Trujillo, 5 fro Mérida, 5 from Falcón, 3 from Nueva Esparta, 2 from Sucre, and 2 from Anzoátegui “.

Zulia state is the entity with the highest number of infections today, in 13 of its 21 municipalities: 37 in Maracaibo, 19 in Cabimas, 9 in Sucre, 7 in Colón, 5 in San Francisco, 5 in Lagunillas, 4 in Machiques De Perijá, 3 in Rosario De Perijá, 3 in Mara, 1 in Baralt, 1 in Santa Rita, 1 in Miranda and 1 in Almirante Padilla.

Up to date, 81,019 cases have been confirmed, of which 72,196 people have recovered, which is equivalent to 89%. We have 8,145 active cases, 7,905 are into the public health system and 240 in private clinics”, wrote Ñañez.

The minister highlighted that in Venezuela, since the pandemic began, 1,979,251 tests have been carried out, which represents 65,975 tests per million inhabitants.

Finally, he regretted the death of 7 Venezuelans by Covid-19: 1 84-year-old man and 1 68-year-old woman in Apure state, 1 69-year-old woman in Sucre, 1 68-year-old man in Trujillo, 1 60-year-old woman in Barinas, a 74 Years old man in Miranda and a 71 Years old man in Lara state: “Condolences to their relatives and close ones”, communicated Minister Ñañez.
