President Maduro orders mobilization of military artillery in the face of threats of armed actions

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Friday that right-wing sectors intend to carry out armed and violent actions – perpetrated from the United States (USA) – to attack the nation’s peace amidst the coronavirus pandemic ( Covid-19), which already registers 153 cases and seven deaths.

“There are groups that cannot cope with all the hatred they carry and that these days are preparing armed and violent actions against the peace of Venezuela. I know what I’m saying. Groups financed from abroad, from the US, from Colombia”, warned the Venezuelan head of state from Miraflores Palace in Caracas; during a meeting with the Presidential Commission for the Prevention of Covid-19.

Given this situation, the also commander-in-chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) has ordered the mobilization of artillery, in order to prepare for any scenario of violence that threatens the stability and peace of the Republic.

“As commander to chief I am at the forefront of all the preparations for Venezuela to have peace and to be prepared for any combat, I have an obligation to prepare ourselves. I have ordered that in the next few hours, within the framework of the permanent Bolivarian Shield operation, the mobilization of artillery pieces must be prepared for the fight for peace”, emphasized the Venezuelan president.

On the other hand, he reiterated his call to all sectors and political forces in the country to unite and to carry out a “cease-fire, a political truce” to fight and stop the pandemic that plagues more than 200 countries and that has already affected 1,097.810 people worldwide and has left a balance of 59,140 deceased.

“I call on all political forces in the country, a ceasefire, a political truce, a humanitarian agreement for Venezuela. United, all political sectors, move towards a humanitarian agreement. We are going towards peace”, he stressed.
