President Maduro highlighted people’s resistance a year after the coup plan

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted on Thursday the resistance and struggle of the Venezuelan people after meeting a year of the coup strategy promoted by the Donald Trump administration and the self-proclamation of the ultra-right wing deputy, Juan Guaidó.

“In 2019 we faced a 100-headed monster and the people demonstrated their capacity for resistance and struggle. This people is worth the sacrifice, loyalty”, said Maduro on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the rebellion of January 23, 1958 against the dictatorship of Marcos Pérez Jiménez.

He stressed that Venezuelan men and women have reasons to celebrate national peace, independence and integrity, as well as the civic-military union and the cohesion of the revolutionary forces that “gave face” on the US and its allies.

“Venezuela has stood up to imperialism because we are defending the right to development and happiness,” he emphasized during his speech from the Balcony of the People in Miraflores Palace.

In this regard, he also stressed that despite the media and propaganda campaigns of Guaidó and his external allies, the truth of Venezuela prevailed in the world.
