Venezuela expresses solidarity and offers support to the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian


The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his solidarity and offered support to the government of the Bahamas after the passage of Hurricane Dorian (category 5) through the Abaco Islands, causing damages.
“I express my solidarity with the people and the government of the Bahamas, in the face of the effects caused by the passage of Hurricane Dorian. I instructed Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to coordinate with the authorities of the Caribbean country to offer all our support and cooperation”, wrote the national president on the Twitter social network.
On Monday, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) said that Dorian has devastated approximately 13,000 residences as it passes through the Abaco Islands and the Bahamas, after arriving on Sunday to the shores of the Bahamas archipelago with maximum winds of 295 kilometers per hour.

“The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, expresses his unconditional solidarity and condolences to the brotherly people and government of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, in the face of the devastating consequences that Hurricane Dorian has left, affecting the region covered by the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama, north of The Bahamas, and that has caused at least one person’s painful death and substantial material losses.
The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, faithful to its humanitarian tradition of fraternal accompaniment towards the people of the Caribbean neighborhood, makes available to the people and institutions of the Bahamas its immediate support and willingness to assist with all the resources available to this brotherly people in such difficult circumstances”.
