Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, delivered a report to the High Commissioner for Human Rights


The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, declared on Thursday that in the report delivered to the High Commissioner for Human Rights (HR) of the United Nations (UN), Michelle Bachelet, it is highlighted that August 2017 and May 2019 the Public Ministry has presented 6,709 conclusive acts for violations of human rights in Venezuela.
In a statement offered at the end of a meeting with Bachelet, at the Chancellory headquarters in Venezuela, at the Casa Amarilla, he expressed: “We wanted to report a result and figures on how the Venezuelan State and the Public Prosecutor sanctions, investigates, prosecute and finally condemn violators of human rights. A very detailed report is delivered to the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet”.
Saab announced that, out of 666 fiscal files, 596 State officials linked to Human Rights violations have been accused, of which 335 have been deprived of their liberty.
Saab detailed that for the “guarimbas” (riots) promoted by the opposition, 77 people have been murdered, 5,930 investigations have been opened, with 1,930 accusations and registered 720 cases related to damage to public institutions.
