Ambassador Moncada repudiates aggression against Venezuela's diplomatic headquarters in Washington

The representative of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), Ambassador Samuel Moncada, condemned the attacks perpetrated on Wednesday against the diplomatic headquarters in Washington, United States, and questioned the inefficient performance of local authorities in the protection of the facilities.
He indicated that the action of vandalism groups is a sample of what the US administration, in complicity with sectors of the national extreme right, is trying to “do with all of Venezuela”, a situation that it has already denounced in the past by warning “about violence and looting that was planned in Washington. ”
“This is a window to the future that those who pray for the military invasion of (Donald) Trump in Venezuela dream of. It is not a new country, but a violent, racist nightmare and full of hatred: this is the past that will not return”, he said on the Twitter social network.
Moncada pointed out that the “hate traffickers” who tried to forcefully enter the diplomatic building is the same group that later gave insults to the personnel inside, as well as to journalist Anya Parampil, who reviewed the activity.
“It is the same group of aggressors who beat, throw racist insults and threaten to starve those inside the building. The humiliations of hate traffickers do not compare with the dignity of those who fight for peace”, he said.
The diplomat, on behalf of the National Government, extended his thanks to those who are exposed to the attacks of “sick souls” to avoid a war, and ratified that the Venezuelan position is the defense of peace.
“In Washington there are two sides that will mark history: a majority that wants peace and a minority that is thirsty for war. Our brothers are those who fight for peace”, he said.
