ANC rejects new attacks and blockades by the US government against Venezuela

On Tuesday the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) approved a constituent agreement in rejection of the new attacks and blockades of the government of the United States (USA) against Venezuela, and the sanctions imposed by the European Union (EU).

The president of the Plenipotentiary power, Diosdado Cabello, stressed that these sanctions are the product of the historical resistance of the Venezuelan people:

“The imperialism wants to subdue us because we do not surrender, because we have dignity. (You must) understand that here there is a government set in by a people”, said Cabello.

He also pointed out that “now they want to make believe that here in Venezuela there is a war for gold, (when) imperialism is the one that directs these campaigns”.

The European Union (EU) approved to extend until November 2019 the sanctions against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with the aim of putting pressure on the National Executive branch.

The measures, which according to the agency only affect some officials and sectors of the economy, in practice hinder the access of the Venezuelan people to food and medicines.

Likewise, Constituent Adán Chávez indicated that year after year they are defeating the attempts and pretensions of the US government and its allies.

“Every time they suffer a defeat they accelerate their attacks against Venezuela”, he said.
