Venezuela activates Media Zero Tolerance Plan

William Castillo, Vice Minister of International Communication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced Monday that, under instructions of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, will be launched the Media Zero Tolerance Plan.

He explained that this plan consists of responding “media by media”, each one of the false news that is published about Venezuela and its inhabitants: “There is an aggression against the Venezuelan people, and not only against the country, its political authorities, its government and the Chavismo, but against the person, the demonym, the national identity”.

He referred to an anonymous note published last weekend on a TV station in Portugal, which claimed that Venezuelan mothers are giving away their children to eat. “That’s false,” Castillo said.

In his opinion all this information should be dismantled and this will be achieved thanks to the implementation of the Media Zero Tolerance Plan.

On the subject of migration, researcher Lilia Ramírez, when interviewed in the “Diplomacia Bolivariana” (Bolivarian Diplomacy) program, broadacst by the RNV Informative channel, assured that there is a smear campaign against Venezuelan women in the media in the context of migration, with El Nacional and El Nuevo Herald being the media that contribute most to this negative campaign.

According to Ramírez in 92% of the analyzed notes, Venezuelan women are being criminalized before the community, thanks to the spread of false information.
