Venezuela ratifies love and commitment to Cuban community in New York

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, participated in an event in solidarity with Cuba at the emblematic Riverside Church in Harlem, New York City (US), in an event held to honor Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel

Since it opened its doors in the 1930s in Harlem, north Manhattan, the Riverside Church has been a progressive and community defense center attended by personalities such as the late Cuban former President, Fidel Castro.

Hundreds of people attended this Wednesday night the mythical building located in the Harlem neighborhood, where was in 2000 the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and where a poster now expresses: “Welcome, President Miguel Díaz-Canel Yes to Cuba, Not to the blockade!”

President Maduro attended the ceremony after taking part in the 73rd General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).

Upon his arrival at the temple, he received loud applause and cheers for Venezuela from the congregation, as reported the international media.

Through his account on the Twitter social network @NicolasMaduro, the Venezuelan Head of State said: “We ratify the love and commitment of the people of Venezuela to the Cuban community in New York”.
