Maduro: Venezuela is stronger than ever despite unilateral sanctions

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said on Wednesday that, despite the unilateral sanctions by the United States (US), Venezuela is stronger and firmer to build a true socialist model:

“Today, Venezuela is stronger than ever, to stand and to continue building a socialist model of the 21st century. Today we are stronger than ever”, said the Head of State during his participation in the 73rd General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).

He affirmed the constant harassment and aggression to which the nation has been subjected by the American Empire in the economic, political, diplomatic, media fields since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, with a greater force during the government of Donald Trump:

“It is a historical conflict between the imperial, interventionist, neocolonial Monroe doctrine vs. the historical, independentist, anti-imperialist, doctrine of dignity, of justice, and equality of our liberator Simón Bolívar, it is an old contradiction”, he recalled.

These actions by the US have been protected by the aforementioned doctrine in order to justify the aggression against Venezuela: “due to the fact that Venezuela has set up an autonomous revolutionary project based on the historical roots, identity and culture of the nation”, stressed Maduro.
