Route towards monetary reconversion: Key dates and banking services

Resolution No. 18-07-02, published in Official Gazette No. 41,460, dated August 14, 2018, establishes that the adjustments to the computer systems must be made before August 20, for the effective entry into force of the monetary reconversion.

In this sense, the public and private banks will carry out, as of this Friday, the relevant adjustments to their technological platforms to guarantee that they will process, in the new monetary scale, the operations that involve the national currency, for which they will suspend some banking services.

Following, know the key dates of the route towards the effective date of the monetary reconversion:

– Friday, August 17: Non-banking day. Offices, branches and external ticket offices in banking entities will not provide commercial services. Available services: Electronic banking, point of sale (POS) transactions, ATMs and interbank mobile payment operations.

– Saturday August 18: Offices, branches and external ticket offices in banks will not provide commercial services. Available services: Electronic banking, ATMs, points of sale (POS) and interbank mobile payment operations.

– Sunday, August 19: As of 6:00 p.m., all electronic banking services will be suspended, in order to complete the adaptation of the entire technological system.

– Monday August 20: Entry into force of the Sovereign Bolivar. It will be a banking holiday ((Non-banking day, no agencies, offices, external ticket offices, electronic banking services will be provided) and a non-working day, in order to guarantee the effective start of the monetary reconversion.
