Henri Falcón qualified as a “terrible error” call to abstention by opposition groups

“Abstention is a terrible mistake, abstention has no destination, it has no purpose, it has no use, it is time to do what we have to do for Venezuela, to vote”. This was reiterated this Sunday by the presidential candidate Henri Falcón, during his tour of Sucre state.

This way, the standard-bearer for the presidential elections of May 20 by the Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS), Avanzada Progresista (AP) and Copei parties, once again rejected the call for abstention promoted by sectors of the Venezuelan opposition.

On a walk along the main avenue of the Brazil neighborhood of the Altagracia parish in Cumaná, capital of the eastern Sucre state, Falcón said that on May 20 it will be time to give everything for the country from the voting stations.

Falcon said that during this week he had a meeting with the also aspiring president, Javier Bertucci, of the group of voters Esperanza por el Cambio, with whom he discussed the importance of guaranteeing the maximum participation of voters in the upcoming elections, and announced that in the next few days he will meet with candidates Luis Ratti (postulated by his own initiative) and Reinaldo Quijada, flag bearer of the organization Unidad Politica Popular 89 (UPP 89).

“Any action that contradicts the participation of the people, corresponds to a deceptive and irrational proposal outside of any context. This is not about any candidacy, it is not about any political moment in the country. We must all put all our effort”, he said.

This Sunday, in Cumaná, Falcón held a meeting with fishermen from the tourist town of El Peñón and made a tour of the Brazil sector, also met with his militancy in the town of Marigüitar in the Bolívar municipality and finally made a rally in Carúpano, Bermúdez municipality of Sucre state.
