«Exxon Mobil does not have a single drop of oil in reserve in the world, they are looking for a large-scale conflict on the North Atlantic facade and somehow involve Venezuela, Guyana, the United Kingdom and NATO», said William Fariñas .
The former president of the Permanent Defense Commission of the AN, in an interview on a private television channel, referred to the interests behind the decision adopted by the UN in the case of the dispute between Venezuela and Guyana over the Essequibo.
Fariñas insisted on pointing out that the US oil company «wants our oil and they are looking for a return, in different ways, taking advantage of this circumstance of difficulties that we Venezuelans have».
In February, as part of Guyana’s «aggressive exploration program», the company announced the discovery of a second oil deposit in the Stabroek block, in the disputed territory of Essequibo, as early as last May, Exxon Mobil had announced the discovery of more than 90 meters of sandstone deposits with high quality oil.
He recalled that the current president of Guyana, David Granger, came to the government in 2015, thanks to the oil lobby of Exxon Mobil, and from there it has been undermining the entire project of regional integration promoted by Venezuela.
In this sense, he reiterated the warning assuring that the country is under threat, «they are creating a false positive» to provoke an action of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
