Venezuela and Colombia plan bi-national meeting

This weekend will be set the date for the binational meeting between Ministers of Venezuela and Colombia, as said the Head of State and Government, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during the international press conference held at Miraflores Palace.

The goal of this meeting will be to discuss a comprehensive security plan for the border shared by many nations.

The President said that the measures taken by the Colombian President, Juan Manuel Santos, regarding the border area is a requirement made by the Government of Donald Trump, after the visit of Rex Tillerson, State Secretary of this country, and Kurt Tidd, commander of the Southern Command.

He said that although the motivation of this initiative is infamous it plays an important role in the security of Venezuela, which has been a victim of various corruption factors that come from the Colombian border.

In turn, he rejected the position of the US Government when trying to impose the “Monroe Doctrine” in the country.

“There is no possibility that this doctrine is imposed, neither by force nor by deception, what will develop here is the Bolivarian and libertarian doctrine”.

He reiterated that the United States commits a political and diplomatic error with Venezuela and that it hopes soon to establish diplomatic deals between both countries.
