The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, within the framework of the 16th Political Council of the Alba-TCP, held in Havana, Cuba, made a summary of the achievements made in the second half of the year, thanks to the National Assembly Constituent Assembly (ANC), a body that achieved peace in the country, after the acts of violence perpetrated by the right wing.
“We had to fight hard and control public order, to go dismembering spots financed with dollars and groups of the international right wing (…) we were presented with the dilemma, but from the deepest of Chavez’s legacy we had an answer, the call for a ANC that was elected on July 30 and which meant, with more than 8 million votes, the arrival of peace”, he said.
The Head of State, highlighted the action of the Plenipotentiary Power that in less than 140 days consolidated the peace with 2 electoral processes where the Venezuelan people elected the governors of the 23 states and the mayors of the 335 municipalities of the national geography.
He stressed that the capacity for organization and cohesion of the revolutionary forces was demonstrated once again, after obtaining electoral triumphs, which reaffirmed the confidence of the people in the Bolivarian project of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez.
“They continue to sell the idea of that Venezuela has a dictatorship, an atrocious government that prohibits human rights, but on December 10 went out to vote 9,300,000 compatriots and the Revolution got the victory in 305 mayorships out of the 335 that has the country. A victory that we had not seen for some time in that magnitude”.
The National Leader reiterated that before the international attacks against Venezuela, the Bolivarian Government once again took the electoral path, as the only way to consolidate peace.
The Bolivarian Revolution has given them a lesson with a people, vote, more participation, more democracy (…) against the bullets, the burning, the “guarimba” (riots) a great voice of peace was raised, and fortunately we have managed to unite the wishes of peace, and the Revolution in 140 Days has obtained 3 resounding victories. Everyone has their way, this is our way”, he said.
