Rodriguez: Some opposition parties withdrew candidatures harming their constituents

The chairwoman of the National Constituent Assembly, Delcy Rodríguez, informed that the plenipotentiary power is working on mechanisms to encourage the participation of the different political organizations of the country in upcoming elections.

“The Venezuelan democratic system is based precisely on the system of political parties, so it is necessary for the Venezuelan democracy to encourage and stimulate the participation of political parties,” she declared.

She denounced that some political parties withdrew their candidacies damaging their constituents, and therefore the ANC will guarantee that this fact will not be repeated in future processes.

“We are studying the mechanisms to encourage, stimulate, to promote the political participation of the parties, it is not that an electoral event is presented and certain convenience with the plan that exists against Venezuela (…) these parties intend to play anti-national interests, anti-Venezuelan interests”, she said.

Rodriguez congratulated the Venezuelan people for expressing themselves massively during the municipal elections convened by the ANC. “Another victory of the National Constituent Assembly (….) The constituent process started on July 30, had an expression in the regional elections of October 15. Today Venezuela is victorious electing its mayors”, she said.

The president of the Originary Power assured that the organism will guarantee the security and transparency of the electoral processes scheduled for 2018.

“There are electoral events that will undoubtedly happen, and the ANC will be vigilant that each of these electoral events of different nature, can be carried out with full transparency, can be carried out above all to provide tranquility to the people of Venezuela, for give peace certainty and above all to defend our people from any external threat”, she said.
