ANC approves agreement on rejection of EU sanctions against Venezuela

The National Constituent Assembly (ANC) approved on Tuesday an agreement that rejects the unilateral sanctions of the European Union (EU) against Venezuela.

In the text, the Venezuelan legislative body “Repudiates in a categorical manner the new interventionist, coercive and unilateral sanctions adopted by the European Union (EU) against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela with the purpose of intervening on internal matters that are of the exclusive competence of the people and institutions of the Venezuelan State, in open contravention of the values and principles of international law, including the sovereign equality of States”.

In the agreement, the EU is required to “adjust its actions to international law and refrain from carrying out unilateral, coercive acts that contribute to the violation of national sovereignty, with the declared intention to oxygenate the anti-democratic and criminal opposition”.

Likewise, the willingness of the Venezuelan Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, to maintain international relations with all the countries of the world is supported, action based on the principles of independence, peaceful resolution of international conflicts, cooperation and solidarity in the struggle of the peoples for their emancipation.
