Opposition leadership is heir to the fascist doctrines of the fourth Republic

“Shoot first, find out later”, is a phrase that is part of the fascist doctrines inherited by the opposition right wing that made history in the decade of the 60, 70 and 80 because it marked an era in the systematic violation of Human Rights in Venezuela”.

This was stated by the Chairwoman of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Delcy Rodríguez, who, along with the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab; referred to that slogan, attributed to a Presidential order given by Rómulo Betancourt repeated in his speeches since the early 60s and that its origin goes back to a German military, an important member of Nazism and founder of the Gestapo named Hermann Göring.

With regard to the due process that is being carried against the opposition deputy of the National Assembly (AN) Freddy Guevara, for the use of minors in violent street activities between April and July, the Constituent and the Prosecutor recalled during their interventions in the ANC the state terrorism that was deployed during the fourth Republic under that slogan of Betancourt.

This order brought with it the massacre of the Venezuelan people with a record so far of more than 10 thousand cases of enforced disappearance, assassinations of political leaders, massacres and tortures, which were certified by the Commission for Justice and Truth created by the Law to Punish the Crimes and Violations of Human Rights during Years 1958 to 1998.

Thousands of cases of homicide and violation of human rights were analyzed by means of probative documents from the Military Courts, the defunct National Congress, the Military Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces in the 1960s and the General Directorate of Police (Digepol), a corp of police intelligence and State policy in the 60s and 70s.

“At least 10 parliamentarians were imprisoned during the government of the Adeco (Belonging to the -right wing- Acción Democrática party) Rómulo Betancourt, who was president of Venezuela between 1959 and 1964. Among them senators and deputies to Congress, were taken de facto, without any trial, any right to defense, nor even previous statements to be able to defend themselves, to the dungeons of the San Carlos Barracks between 1962 and 1963”, recalled the Prosecutor.

“In the “shoot first, find out later” phrase, there is the genesis of the opposition leadership in Venezuela that is the same historically surrendering, transnational, criminal and fascist one, when during the fourth Republic they persecuted, tortured, murdered and disappeared citizens for their way of thought”, said Rodriguez.
