Chancellor Arreaza qualified Santos’ interference in internal affairs as rude

Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza responded this Tuesday to recent statements by Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos regarding the swearing in to the National Constituent Assembly of the four opposition governors elected on October 15 in the regional elections.

Arreaza, in his Twitter account, qualified as “rude” and “obsessive” the attitude of the Colombian leader, who has repeatedly attacked the Venezuelan democratic system.

Santos, who called the act of swearing in as an “abuse of power”, despite corresponding with the powers of this plenipotentiary power, “Decided to attack the moral and political integrity of the 4 Governors of the Venezuelan opposition”, as wrote the Chancellor in a tweet.

The representative of Venezuelan diplomacy criticized the position of the neighboring President “While the peace process in Colombia hangs in the balance due to the internal conflict …”
