Comptroller notified possible sanctions against officers of the Public Ministry

The Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic published on Tuesday notification posters to a list of officials of the Public Ministry, including Attorney General Luisa Ortega Díaz, to announce the commencement of an administrative procedure for hindering.

This procedure will give way to sanctions that could range from a fine to disqualification for 15 years, as informed the Comptroller General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Manuel Galindo.

“Today in the national press have been published five posts, one in notification to the Prosecutor and the director of her office. Likewise, the Superior Prosecutors of Vargas, Miranda, Aragua and Carabobo states were notified in order to have 15 days to be understood as legally notified, and to initiate proceedings for that alleged hindering”, he reported.

In this sense, the Comptroller pointed out that the public powers and institutions of the State cannot interfere with the functions exercised by the highest fiscal control organ of the Republic.

He explained that the procedure for entrapment could lead to fines of up to 1,000 tax units, and an accessory sanction with disqualification from 1 to 15 years.
