The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, made clear on Tuesday that «No one can pretend to install a parallel state in Venezuela,» this in connection with the call made by the self- called Board the Democratic Unity (MUD) in which it is tried to impose a consultation to the people, without the approval of the National Electoral Council.
«For one to convene public consultations it is necessary to comply with constitutional mechanisms that no one can pretend to circumvent. A society must govern its destiny based on the laws, the Constitution, based on the rules of the game», said Maduro, during a meeting with mayors and governors, which took place at the White Palace in Caracas.
He recalled that the Electoral Power is exercised through the CNE, as established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in articles 92 and 93. In this regard, the Venezuelan Head of State asserted that «Everything (can be made) within the Constitution, Nothing outside the Constitution».
«Respect for the Constitution is the basis of peace … No one can claim to impose on the country a political event without constitutionality», said the National President.
