The Constituent Assembly is the great hope for achieving peace through justice


The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated on Thursday that the Constituent process is the great hope for achieving peace through justice.

“I call on all the candidate men and women to make an electoral campaign of high-level, of mobilization, a pedagogical campaign, of ideas for proposals, of solutions for the country, a campaign to expand and strengthen this Bolivarian Constitution, a campaign to achieve justice, a campaign to, between every one of us, rebuild the processes of justice in the country. Without justice there will be no peace, compatriots; that is why the Constituent Assembly is the great hope for achieving peace, through justice, through reunion, through the re-unification, reconciliation among Venezuelans”, he said.

On Wednesday, the President of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Tibisay Lucena, announced that the electoral campaign of the 545 members of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), to be held at the territorial and sectorial level on July 30, will begin on July 9.

This campaign phase will be maintained for a period of 19 days, until midnight on Thursday, July 27.

The ANC will be composed of 364 territorial constituencies, 8 indigenous and 181 sectoral, which will be distributed as follows: in the sector of workers will be selected 79 representatives; Peasants and fishermen, 8; Businessmen, 5; Pensioners, 28; Persons with disabilities, 5; Students, 24; and communal councils and communes, 24. The election will be made by universal, direct and secret vote.
