The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during the broadcast of the program «Los Domingos con Maduro» (Sundays with Maduro) held from the San José parish, postulated economist Ricardo Sanguino, to assume the presidency of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), replacing Nelson Merentes, who presented his resignation to the post.
«Given the retirement of Comrade Nelson Merentes from the Presidency of BCV, and in my position as Head of State and President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, I have decided to nominate economist Ricardo Sanguino, of a great experience. I know him very well, he is one of the most studious and knowledgeable men in the financial and economic life of the country … we will start a new stage against the mafias», said the National President.
The Head of State called for a new stage of development of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) spearheading the battle to defend the financial and monetary system, and the nation’s economy.
Once are met «the constitutional steps, for the nomination and appointment, in the next few hours Ricardo Sanguino will be the new president for the Central Bank of Venezuela, to take the lead in the battle to defend our financial and monetary system of the people.»
