President Maduro: OPEC and Non-OPEC countries agreement is the basis for global energy stability

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said on Monday that the agreement reached in Vienna, Austria, last November 30 between members and Non-Member countries of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), is part of the foundations of the new world geopolitics.

During the meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Mohammed Barkindo, at the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, the National President stressed that this agreement: “Is one of the bases of the new global geopolitics for the Energy, economic, financial and political stability of the world”.

He highlighted the commitment of the Venezuelan State to consolidate the Opec and Non-OPEC Ministerial Monitoring and Coordination Committee to establish the date and place of the summit, as well as to monitor “compliance with agreements strictly between all signatories of this historic agreement”.

“2017 is going well, at a good pace, I’m sure this year is going to be better than 2016, and it’s going to be a historic year, it’s going to be the year of consolidation of the new Opec and Non-OPEC alliance, I’m sure of that”, said the Head of State.
