Comptroller cited Capriles for irregularities in budget management

On Thursday, the Governor of Miranda state, Henrique Capriles, sent his lawyers to testify before the Comptroller General of the Republic, in an oral and public act, for the investigation that this state body develops regarding some irregularities in the management of the budget in that state, as informed the lawyer representing the Governor, Rafael Chavero.

In the act – which Capriles did not attend –  held at the headquarters of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, in Caracas, were present the lawyers of the Governor, some officials of the Government of the Bolivarian state of Miranda, and the Comptroller General Manuel Galindo .

The Office of the Comptroller General, a state body responsible for overseeing public and national revenues, expenditures and assets, initiated an investigation regarding some irregularities in the management of the public budget by Capriles and his government team, as well as some donations allegedly received by the Governor, coming from an international corporation, as detailed Chavero at his departure from the hearing.

In this sense, the body of control, monitoring and fiscalization of the Venezuelan state will determine whether or not there is responsibility on the part of Governor Capriles and his government team in the irregularities being investigated.
