Illegal! AN sworn new president in contempt

The National Assembly installed a new directive board this Thursday and appointed deputy for the Primero Justicia (PJ) party, Julio Borges, as new chairman of the body for the 2017-2018 period, despite the contempt that it maintains following a ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice TSJ), which sentenced to de-incorporate three deputies from the state of Amazonas (south), due to irregularities during the electoral process.

After his oath, Borges reiterated the call for the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to join the interests of the oligarchy and not those of the Venezuelan people, as well as to disown the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro

In his address, Julio Borges expressed the intention to resume the coup maneuver undertaken by the right wing months ago, claiming without legal arguments that support it to declare the abandon of duty of President Nicolás Maduro.

“With this decision, the National Assembly opens the door for Venezuela to have elections at all levels,” said Borges, insisting on convening general elections that are not enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic.

In this regard, the head of the parliamentary bloc of the Homeland, Hector Rodriguez, criticized the management of the 2016 opposition directive and urged the new board to abide by the TSJ’s rulings and to act with “legality.”
