On Tuesday night, in a joint Radio and Television broadcast, the Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Ernesto Villegas, read a statement by order of the National President, Nicolás Maduro.
In the text, the Head of state appreciates the support of the Venezuelan people to the measures in defense of the national economy, product of the attack of mafias against the currency.

COMMUNIQUÉ
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela thanks the Venezuelan people for its support and the high levels of conscience with which he has responded to the decision – taken under the Economic Emergency and Exceptional State Decree – to withdraw from legal circulation the Bill of Bs 100, inevitable response to the criminal onslaught unleashed by imperialism and the parasitic mafias of the economy against the Venezuelan people.
On instructions from the citizen President, from early morning today, the State’s security bodies, in a civic-military union, were deployed in facilities of the financial system to verify and ensure the inventories of coins and banknotes available in the vaults of public and private banks, in order to ensure their availability to meet the cash needs of citizens.
The President thanked the Central Bank of Venezuela for the actions taken in coordination with the Executive Branch to materialize the demonetization of the Bs 100 note and expresses its satisfaction at having received from the issuing entity, in the hours of last night, the first Samples of the Bs 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 coins that are being minted in Venezuela as part of the expansion of its monetary cone.
The President has ordered the Superintendency of Banks to simplify the necessary procedures for the opening of bank accounts by our people, maintaining the strictest control for the prevention and fight against the legitimation of capitals.
Likewise, as a stimulus for the use of electronic banking operations, he instructed the SENIAT and SUDEBAN to immediately fix a 2% reduction in the Value Added Tax (VAT) for purchases paid electronically by bank card or transfer.
Likewise, he ordered SUDEBAN to create three bank products with interest rates of 10% per month for savings deposits of up to Bs 200 thousand in terms of 30, 60 and 90 days, free of banking commission and any other expenses Of recruitment.
With these actions the Bolivarian Government seeks to strengthen the conditions of our economy to overcome the negative effects caused by the criminal onslaught against our currency, orchestrated from the US and Colombia in connection with the parasitic bourgeoisie and its internal political allies.
The President ratifies his appreciation and gratitude to the Venezuelan people, especially pensioners, transporters, honest traders, housewives, workers in general, for the support and understanding before the unpredictable measure announced and ratify them that they can count on their effective protection in the Application of this and other actions to be taken in defense of the superior interests of the Venezuelan people.
The Head of State congratulates the FANB and the security forces that in these hours have seized large amounts of high denomination banknotes of illicit origin, money that, by decision of the President will be part of the Fund to the Local Committees of Supply And Production (CLAP), as a way to compensate our people for the damages caused by the perverse imperial conspiracy against the Bolivar.
May the CLAP also receive the revolutionary greeting of the President, who encourages them to redouble their daily effort, now that we approach the holiday season.
