UN acknowledges strengthening of human rights institutions in Venezuela

The Human Rights Council of the United Nations (UN) acknowledged again, in the presentation of the Annual Report on Human Rights of the member countries, the advances of Venezuela -in the structural plane- in this area, with the creation of the National Council for Human Rights, created in 2014
“Beyond the opinion matrixes or the lies that are being sold in the world about Venezuela, are the facts that show that there are institutions that are working and operating day by day to further strengthen human rights in the country,” said the executive secretary for Human Rights in Venezuela, Larry Devoe, from Geneva.
During a contact with Venezolana de Television, Devoe said that member countries have acknowledged the seriousness with which the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, has taken the issue of human rights.
He recalled that the National Human Rights Council was created on the initiative of President Maduro from a recommendation made by the group of foreign ministers of Unasur in 2014. This instance has emerged as the guiding political organ in human rights.
