Nicolas Maduro, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, said this Wednesday that “It is foolish, irresponsible and cowardly” that the opposition rejected the invitation to the dialogue board that will be installed on Sunday, October 30 in Margarita island, in the state of Nueva Esparta.
He further recalled that the President of the National Assembly, Henry Ramos Allup, announced his retirement from the event after signing a commitment document.
“How can you call that, now that they do not want to sit down and dialogue?,” said the Head of State, also adding that the opposition always find excuses to stop the peace process and continue to put constraints.
“They said they would not, unless there were international guests, we invited three former Presidents and then they said they wanted a representative of the Vatican, the Pope put a special envoy and after we signed a document and acquired a public and global commitment, now they will disown it!”, he said.
Finally, the first National President expressed to the Venezuelan people gathered outside the Miraflores Palace in Caracas, “I have no doubts of the need for dialogue (…) I will go because I want the peace of the country, I’m not afraid of dialogue, I am a warrior of peace, a fighter “.
