The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, met with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the Yildiz Mabeyn Palace in Istanbul, Turkey, a meeting of a great geopolitical significance because it is the first held by the Presidents of both countries in the history of diplomatic relations.
Once welcomed with the corresponding honors, they started the work lunch with a view to strengthening bilateral relations.
This meeting comes shortly before the incorporation of both leaders to the deliberations of the 23rd World Energy Congress.
«I have been invited by President (Recep Taayip) Erdogan, to participate as special guest at the World Energy Congress, and I told him I’ll be there, beside him»; this way the Head of State confirmed his visit to the Eurasian nation.
