Venezuelan Government retakes request for extradition of fugitive Luis Posada Carriles

The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, requested Chancellor Delcy Rodríguez and the Ambassador of Venezuela to the Organization of American States (OAS), Bernardo Alvarez, to resume the legal court request for the extradition of fugitive Luis Posada Carriles to be tried in this country due to terrorist acts.
Posada Carriles is in Florida protected by the Government of the United States, despite his responsibility for the crime committed in Barbados 40 years ago, on which were killed 73 people when a Cubana airliner that was heading to Havana, exploded.
“There goes Luis Posada Carriles conspiring against the Bolivarian Revolution, conspiring against Cuba, unpunished, walking down 8th Street in Miami, after having confessed to The New York Times, many years ago, that he participated, he gave the orders and was the brain of the murder of these human beings, “said the Head of State during the commemoration of this event, from the Principal Theater in Caracas.
He also said he wants to send a letter to President Barack Obama to see if, before leaving office on January 20 next year, “He gives a glimmer of hope and delivers this fugitive to Venezuela, by the mandate and obligation he has to international laws and covenants on human rights. “
