Venezuela designated to chair commissions of politics and economics of NAM


The delegations participating in the 17th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which takes place on the island of Margarita, Nueva Esparta state, have appointed Venezuela, the host country of event, to chair the politics, economy and social commissions.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Chancellor of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who also reported that Nicaragua will assume the Rapporteur of the final declaration of the Summit.
“Today Venezuela is it marking a page in the history of international geopolitics, in the history of the Bolivarian peace diplomacy,” she manifested, expressing her satisfaction with the success of this meeting which advances towards the construction of a new international order.
The official stressed that those who tried to hinder the development of this summit were defeated by the massive presence of all the delegations that are part of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement.
