Maduro recalls bravery of fighters of the Admirable Campaign


203 years after the completion of the Admirable Campaign with the Battle of Taguanes, on July 31, 1813, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, recalled through his Facebook account the heroic and courageous spirit of the fighters who were under the command of Simon Bolivar.
“On July 31, 1813, the plains of Cojedes witnessed a momentous battle of the Admirable Campaign, where the patriotic troops under the command of Simon Bolivar, to whom, by the courage deployed in this combat that lasted 6 hours of an intense battle , will be acknowledged the title of Liberator of Venezuela”, he said.
“In honor of the fighters who sacrificed their lives in the soil of Cojedes state, today we remember the glory of their courage and bravery,” he said.
On June 28, 1813 Simon Bolivar departed from Trujillo to the plains of Barinas to continue the liberation of Venezuela from the Spanish rule, which became known as the Admirable Campaign.
