The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stated that communal think tanks have emerged at the right time to defend the national narrative. According to the Head of State, its essential function is to multiply the truth of the country through all spaces: social networks, streets, media and walls.

The statement was made during the activation of the Sixth Line of Training and Communication, called «Street, Networks, Media, Walls and Radio Bemba (Word of mouth).» In a telephone contact with the event, President Maduro celebrated the journeys of national mobilization called for December 13, aimed at denouncing acts of piracy attributed to the United States.

In his intervention, he made a call for community action: «Neighborhood by neighborhood, deep within the neighborhood, all of us must win the battle for truth,» he urged, underlining the need for a territorial and popular presence in the discursive conflict.

Likewise, he linked the victory in this battle with the future of the country: «With the truth we will open all the paths to continue triumphing, along the path of peace and independence, with dignity and equality,» he highlighted, defining the truth as the instrument to achieve a «Peace with a capital P for Patria (Homeland).»

To implement this strategy, the National Dignitary directly instructed the Sectoral Vice President for Communication and Culture, Freddy Ñáñez. The order consisted of «multiplying the workshops and multiplying the truth», thus expanding the training and dissemination capacity of the think tanks at the national level.

Finally, the activation of this line of work consolidates a communication model that seeks to counteract narratives considered hostile from the community base. The thought tanks are emerging as the organic structure for that battle on all fronts of public opinion.
