Gran Misión Vuelta a la Patria will facilitate return of Venezuelans affected by the suspension of TPS in the U.S.

In response to the decision by President Donald Trump’s administration to suspend the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) for Venezuelan citizens, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, through the Vice President for Political Affairs, Citizen Security, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, announced the activation of the «Gran Misión Vuelta a la Patria”(Great Mission Return to the Homeland) to facilitate the return of Venezuelans who wish to do so.

The Minister of People’s Power for Interior Relations, Justice, and Peace also assured that Venezuelans facing this situation in the United States have an open invitation to return to their country: «Those comrades who are being deported there today know that they have a place in their country where they can be welcomed by their families,» expressed Cabello Rondón.

During his address, the high official lamented the “various difficulties” and “harassment” that, in his view, suffer daily the Venezuelans residing in the United States. He stated that they are prohibited from buying property in some areas and that they “suffer persecution in the streets,” qualifying the situation as “terrible.”

Likewise, the Vice President indicated that the current wave of migration was instigated by what he called a “mafia gang” comprised of opposition figures such as David Smolansky, Carlos Vecchio, Leopoldo López, Julio Borges, Lester Toledo, Freddy Guevara, Miguel Pizarro, and Carlos Paparoni. He accused this group of “manipulating” citizens with the “false promise” of the “American Dream.”

With the “Gran Misión Vuelta a la Patria“, the National Government reaffirms its commitment to providing support and a path back to those Venezuelans abroad who wish to return to their homeland.
