President Maduro: We build democracy with the power of the Venezuelan people

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed that Venezuela builds its democracy daily through the people’s power. The president reaffirmed that his government’s main interest is to strengthen the communal state as a genuine expression of the collective will.

In an audiovisual presentation on his channel on Telegram, the head of state stated: «Our main interest is not to try to govern the world, but rather to build democracy with the power of the people, over here, over there, and beyond, every day.» He emphasized that the work to consolidate this model of citizen participation never stops.

He emphasized the determination of the Venezuelan people in the face of external adversities. He noted that the more imperialist aggression and threats the country faces, the greater the collective effort to ensure peace, education, well-being, and the integral development of the nation:

«If the gringos threaten, we’ll work harder. If the gringos attack, we’ll respond, but nothing stops the work,» forcefully stated the Venezuelan president. This statement reflects the official position in the face of international pressure.

As a concrete part of this system of popular government, President Maduro called for the fourth Popular Consultation 2025 to be held next November 23. This participatory mechanism seeks to promote grassroots community projects that strengthen direct democracy in local communities.

The consultation represents another step in the consolidation of the model of participatory and protagonist democracy being built in Venezuela. These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to a political system where communities directly decide on their development.
