Delegates from 21 countries signed a Final Declaration in solidarity with the Venezuelan people and in defense of its Bolivarian Revolution and President Nicolás Maduro. The document represents support in the face of threats of invasion and military aggression by the United States government.
The international representatives, meeting within the framework of the Extraordinary Plenary Session of the 4th Congress of the PSUV (United Socialist Party of Venezuela), agreed to demand an immediate cessation of the threats and the withdrawal of US warships from the Caribbean Sea. PSUV’s Vice President for International Affairs Tania Díaz reported that 88 delegates participated in this international working group to defend peace in Venezuela and Latin America.
In the declaration, the signatories demand the unconditional withdrawal of US troops and an end to unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela. They also condemn the malicious accusations and false narratives directed against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, and the acts that seek to undermine his democratic legitimacy.
The Venezuelan parliamentarian warned that President Maduro is the central target of a war propaganda campaign, intended to establish a beachhead for violence and aggression on the continent. The delegates recalled that Latin America is a region of peace, free of armed conflict and nuclear weapons.
On behalf of all the signatories, Aura Lili Escobar, of the Guatemalan Revolutionary Unity, expressed her support, stating that her presence ratifies the defense of Venezuela and the peoples of the Great Homeland. She asserted that US imperialism is a common enemy that has historically attacked the peoples of the region.
The international representatives thus reaffirmed the firm position of political parties, social movements, and government leaders. Their presence in Venezuela consolidates a common cause against the warmongering, interference, and lies of the US imperial regime.
