The Venezuelan government, through the Great Mission Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland ), successfully rescued and repatriated three children who were kidnapped in the United States. The mission’s president, Camilla Fabri, confirmed their return to the country on flight number 65 of this humanitarian effort.
From the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía (La Guaira state), Fabri described the event as “a new miracle» and attributed the success of the operation to President Nicolás Maduro. The children, identified as Robin Cárdenas, Yoisner Graterol, and Isaac Lovera, had been separated from their families when they were deported.
Fabri denounced that this situation is not an isolated case, warning that there are still more than 70 Venezuelan minors being held by foster families or social services in the US. According to the mission, this practice violates international law and children’s fundamental rights.
The rescue process involved ongoing cooperation and negotiation. The National Assembly, chaired by Jorge Rodríguez, sends a daily updated list of cases to the US government in order to facilitate the location and safe return of the minors.
On the same flight arrived in the country 305 Venezuelans who were in the US. Each of the repatriated children receives integral medical and psychosocial assistance from citizen security agencies to facilitate their reintegration.
The scene at the airport was highly emotional. Family members thanked the Venezuelan government for the reunion, with emotional testimonies that emphasized the joy of being home again and reunited with their loved ones.
