Extremist sector in Venezuela prepares manipulation campaign using artificial intelligence

Diosdado Cabello, secretary general of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), denounced that ultra-right wing groups are planning a psychological warfare campaign with a greater funding than that used in 2019. According to Cabello, they seek to spread a false narrative about instability in the country and a possible military uprising, even using artificial intelligence tools to manipulate public perception.

The information emerged through a letter sent from Washington by a supposed «VIP Patriot,» detailing the actions planned by these sectors. Cabello responded with a warning message: «Here we are prepared. If you dare, you will receive a resounding response from our people and the revolutionary force.»

The same informant linked the recent foiled attack in Plaza Venezuela (Caracas) and the discovery of explosives in Maturín (in Monagas state) to the desperation of the opposition. Furthermore, it was reported that representatives of Venezuelan extremists will meet in Colombia with US officials, such as Christopher Landau, to coordinate violent actions. The letter also mentions Lester Toledo, accusing him of receiving funding from groups linked to Colombian drug trafficking in order to justify a military intervention under the argument that Venezuela represents a regional threat.

It is also alleged that María Corina Machado instructed figures such as Iván Simonovis to carry out violent acts, promising to escalate the conflicts in August and September. Finally, it was revealed that members of the so-called «Interim Administration Train» were coordinating operations from Florida, where they discussed strategies in the event of potential failures or successes of their plans. Cabello claimed to have access to the transcripts of these conversations.
