FANB deploys permanent Bolivarian Shield throughout the country

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) are permanently implementing Operation “Escudo Bolivariano” (Bolivarian Shield) with the aim of safeguarding peace, sovereignty, and territorial stability in Venezuela, especially in 146 strategic areas where organized crime, drug trafficking, and terrorism are being combated. This was announced by the Vice President of Defense, General Vladimir Padrino López, during a meeting with President Nicolás Maduro on the “Con Maduro+” program.

The Minister for Defense, along with the Strategic Operational Commander (CEOFANB), General Domingo Hernández Lárez, and other senior military and police officials, emphasized that this plan strengthens national security through continuous operations.

Maduro emphasized that the strategy has gained strength thanks to the constant deployment of the Rapid Combat Reaction Units (URRAS), which intervene in military missions, citizen protection, and response to natural emergencies.

Padrino López pointed out that the FANB is facing a conflict that goes beyond conventional warfare, also encompassing the technological and communications sphere, which requires adaptation to fourth- and fifth-generation warfare.

For his part, Hernández Lárez condemned the threats against the president and Venezuelan institutions, rejecting what he described as «Hollywood-style defamatory actions» in reference to certain media offensives. He also announced that the armed forces will continue to express their support for the president and the country’s security authorities.
