President Maduro claims fascist oligarchies envy Venezuelan democracy

Venezuela’s constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, declared that oligarchies and fascist sectors, both national and international, feel an «insane envy» of the country’s democratic strength. He emphasized that Venezuela has overcome repeated attempts at destabilization and achieved seven electoral victories in one year, despite blockades and external aggression.

From the Sarría sector of Caracas, where he inaugurated the «Juana Ramírez La Avanzadora» Socialist Mission Base, Maduro asserted that critics do not tolerate the achievements of the Venezuelan people: «Our victory hurts them; they are envious of us, (they have) an insane envy.» He also recalled the reopening of the Aristóbulo Istúriz promenade, which was restored after acts of vandalism that occurred in July 2024.

The dignatary listed the seven electoral processes held between 2024 and 2025, including presidential reelection, community consultations, and legislative elections: «We are the only country in the world with seven elections in one year!» he exclaimed, celebrating peace and the defeat of fascism.

Regarding the new National Assembly, elected in May 2025, Maduro described it as «vigorous» and highlighted the greater opposition representation, which, according to him, reflects democratic pluralism. Finally, he challenged his detractors: «What more do you want? In here there is democracy!»
