Venezuela and South Africa strengthen collaboration and exchange on community matters

The Deputy Minister for Africa, Yuri Pimentel, met with delegates from the Legislative Council of the Gauteng Province of South Africa, to share knowledge on government management and citizen participation.

At the meeting, the Deputy Minister detailed the organization of the Venezuelan regional government, its electoral model, and the fundamental role of Communal Power, highlighting its powers and influence in decision-making and the country’s economic development.

He also presented the various social programs promoted by the national government to guarantee the well-being of the population, including the Great Mission Housing Venezuela, the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP), and the Patria System.

For his part, Morokane Mosupyoe, leader of the South African Legislative Council, expressed interest in analyzing Venezuelan community initiatives and the legal framework that fosters the participation of people’s power in the state structure.

The African delegation emphasized the importance of strengthening trade ties between the two countries to promote the exchange of products in their respective markets.
