The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported in the 86th edition of his “Con Maduro+” program that there are still 29 Venezuelan children being held in the United States, whose return to the country is still being intensively sought. The president stated during an address in which he detailed the progress made in the humanitarian return of Venezuelan minors and migrants who remained deprived of their freedom in El Salvador and the United States.
President Maduro emphasized that the United States is committed to completing the repatriation of these cases, within the framework of the diplomatic and humanitarian efforts undertaken by the Venezuelan government:
«There are still 29 children being held in the United States, whose return we are intensively demanding. This operation will continue until all of them are returned. The United States has pledged to return them,» he said.
On another topic of international relevance, the Venezuelan head of state celebrated the creation, together with Colombia, of the First Binational Zone, a space intended to promote peace, trade integration, and bilateral development. He explained that Venezuela will represented by the states of Táchira and Zulia, along with North de Santander and La Guajira, for Colombia.
The objective of this initiative is to transform the area into a zone of binational cooperation, free of violence, focused on peace and security, and on eradicating illegal armed groups, drug traffickers, paramilitaries, and hitmen. It also promotes economic integration, such as the development of infrastructure, education, and healthcare. It also promotes the unity of peoples to strengthen political and social harmony between the two nations.
