During her participation at the 81st Annual Assembly of FEDECÁMARAS (Chamber of Commerce), Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez highlighted the importance of economic dialogue with the productive sectors, the National Economic Council, and its influence on national recovery policies.
Despite the consequences of the economic blockade, there is a plan that has yielded positive results thanks to a coordinated strategy, as affirmed Rodríguez.
The four main points presented were:
– Overcoming the consequences of the blockade: It was highlighted the need for a space for dialogue to resolve differences and find common ground among the various economic actors.
– Rejection of the blockade and progress in integration: Rodríguez mentioned the recent agreement with Colombia to promote peace, integration, and bilateral economic development, in order to attract investment and correct imbalances. We have taken a strategic step by reopening borders that were previously controlled by mafias. She maintained that the illegitimate blockade must end, adding that oil production has grown thanks to the efforts of workers and alliances.
– Promoting peace: She stressed that peace and stability must prevail over violence and extremism, especially in a global context where these are at risk. We must protect and value this climate of peace, he emphasized.
– Strengthening of the public-private collaboration: In the last two years, 42 high-level meetings have been held between business leaders and the government. Unity, especially with the economic sectors, is vital for the country’s progress, she concluded.
