Drug trafficking funds conspiracies of the ultra right-wing against Venezuela

The Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, denounced that drug trafficking groups are financing conspiracies against Venezuela in alliance with sectors of the ultra-right wing. During a ceremony to present equipment to special forces of the FANB and the Bolivarian National Police, he warned about the convergence between criminal gangs, terrorists, and opposition political actors:

«Drug trafficking money is being used to pay for criminal gangs, terrorist acts, and conspiracies against our country,» stated the Minister of People’s Power for Internal Affairs, Justice, and Peace. He emphasized that these organizations have increased their coordination, posing a threat to national stability.

The senior official emphasized that the security forces, under the command of President Nicolás Maduro, maintain a coordinated deployment throughout the country to neutralize these groups: «All the criminals who have confronted our forces have been killed,» he affirmed, referring to recent operations against criminal leaders.

Among the cases mentioned, Cabello cited the neutralization of a well-known criminal, a scourge of the San Juan and El Guarataro neighborhoods in Caracas, linked to attacks against the Miraflores Palace, belonging to the so-called «comanditos.» These actions are part of a broader strategy to dismantle networks financed with illicit resources.
