Venezuela, in its role as an Observer State, participated in an actively manner in the 49th Meeting of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), reaffirming its firm commitment to the region.
The Venezuelan delegation was led by Raúl Li Causi, Vice Minister for the Caribbean and Ambassador to CARICOM since 2013, who represents the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting, held in Montego Bay under the presidency of Jamaica, brought together key Caribbean leaders to discuss priority issues such as migration, transnational crime, tariffs, and obstacles to regional economic integration.
The agenda also included discussions on the crisis in Haiti, climate financing, South-South cooperation, alimentary security, and institutional digitalization and strengthening, in a context of shared challenges and emerging opportunities.
With its participation, Venezuela strengthens its ties with the Caribbean peoples, promotes bilateral cooperation with CARICOM member states, and looks forward to the agreements reached at this key summit for the region.
