President Maduro promotes FANB officers in a joint military promotion

From the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela, the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the FANB, Nicolás Maduro Moros, presided this Monday the Act of Joint Promotion for officers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in the command, technical, and enlisted personnel categories. During the ceremony, were also carried out the pass to the active reserve of the promotions of 1992.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the national leader stated that this ceremony marks the 50th anniversary of Commander Hugo Chávez Frías’ graduation from the Venezuelan Military Academy. He also emphasized that the eternal leader received his rank at this institution, which he earned through leadership and study.

He also indicated that Chávez emerged from the humble villages of Sabaneta de Barinas and from the military barracks to return to the people the Sword of Bolívar: «Today we are commemorating the 50th anniversary of the graduation of the man who would become the giant of the Americas: our Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Frías. Who would have thought on that day that, from the military ranks, would resurrect the noblest ideal ever possessed by any leader, or by any people, in all of the Americas? From here was resurrected Bolívar’s ideal project,» he emphasized.

In this regard, he urged the military youth, who are receiving their promotion today, to keep the revolutionary flame alive: «You must feel inspired by the actions and sorrows of one of the greatest military leaders, after our Liberator Simón Bolívar.»

From the military ranks emerged the man who would become the great democratizer of our Americas… That is why this solemn graduation, where you, young soldiers, take your oath, your commitment to develop an impeccable military career, should feel inspired by the actions, words, and thoughts of one of the greatest military leaders, after our Liberator (Simón Bolívar), Commander Hugo Chávez Frías. Carry him in your hearts”, he emphasized.

The head of state was accompanied by the first lady, Cilia Flores; the Minister of People’s Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, among other national authorities.
