At the ceremony of joint promotion of officers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), President Nicolás Maduro reaffirmed the need to develop a cutting-edge military industry as a fundamental pillar for the nation’s integral defense.
The president emphasized that this initiative must be based on three strategic pillars: technological self-sufficiency (development of weapons systems and defensive logistics); specialized training (starring role of the Bolivarian Military University); and continuous modernization (adaptation to new geopolitical challenges):
«We must build a robust military industry that guarantees our defense systems, their maintenance, and its permanent upgrade”, emphasized the Commander in Chief during his speech.
Specially addressing the new corvette lieutenants, the president urged them to deepen their academic training, to lead the military’s technological transformation, and contribute to the construction of a modern FANB.
The president highlighted the importance of institutional strategic plans such as the Republic Plan and the Ayacucho Plan.
During the ceremony, was paid a homage to the teaching staff of the 12 military academies, to the class of officers who graduated in 1992, and the military personnel transitioning to the Active Reserve:
«These professionals wrote glorious pages in our history and will continue to be at the forefront of national construction,» highlighted the president.
With these actions, the Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment with a technologically advanced FANB, doctrinally sound, and strategically autonomous to defend the national sovereignty.
