The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) are recognized as the most powerful core of the legacy of the Liberator Simón Bolívar and a fundamental creation of the revolutionary leader Hugo Chávez. This was emphasized by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during an emotional ceremony for the promotion of officers at the National Pantheon in Caracas.
During his speech, the president emphasized that the FANB represents the quintessence of the effort to rebuild the United Liberation Army of America. He emphasized that the new generals and admirals are the fruit of a historic process that honors the independence struggle and the vision of military and popular unity promoted by Commander Hugo Chávez.
The head of state urged the promoted officers to swear absolute loyalty to the Bolivarian and revolutionary project: «They must commit themselves to the defense of the homeland, in the powerful fusion of the people, the militia, and the police forces,» he affirmed. This slogan reinforces the FANB’s role as guarantor of national sovereignty. The Commander-in-Chief of the FANB honored the work of the military forces:
«Two centuries after this historic sword was presented by the Peruvian people to Bolívar in recognition of his triumphs at Junín and Ayacucho, which consecrated him as the liberator of America at the head of the United Army of Liberators, today, as we commemorate this bicentennial on October 30, 2025, before this symbol of glory, our national flag, the victorious banners, your families, the highest values of the Homeland, the eternal legacy of Bolívar, and the teachings of Commander Hugo Chávez, do you swear to defend and uphold the 1999 Constitution, which gave birth to the Fifth Republic, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela?» said President Maduro during the swearing-in ceremony.
Then, the most distinguished generals and officers of their promotions reaffirmed their loyalty to the Homeland inspired by Bolívar and Chávez.
The President urged all members of the FANB to continue complying with the rules and to work tirelessly for an invincible, free, and sovereign Venezuela, supported by an anti-imperialist, anti-colonialist armed force faithful to the Chavista ideology.
He also highlighted the fundamental role of military men and women, who embody the liberating spirit of Bolívar and Chávez. He emphasized that being the best in their class is not a privilege, but a responsibility to boost morale and honorably represent their generation in all components of the FANB.
He emphasized that the duty of every military member is absolute honesty, excellence in training, and exemplary leadership, so that the FANB is admired and becomes a benchmark of military dignity worldwide.
Institutional and Spiritual Strength:
President Maduro emphasized that this promotion demonstrates the institutional and spiritual strength of the FANB, which he defined as the «backbone of Venezuelan independence.» He reiterated that this institution is key to maintaining the country’s dignity and sovereignty in the 21st century.
