Diosdado Cabello warns of new aggression plan by the US against Venezuela

The Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, denounced this Wednesday that the United States (US) State Department is planning to launch a new attack against Venezuela in the coming weeks by request of Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado.

During his «Con el Mazo Dando” (Hitting with the Hammer) program, Cabello explained that, according to his sources, the disqualified politician has asked people close to the Donald Trump Administration to advance «with a package of measures that will lead to the suffocation of our country.»

In this regard, he explained that the request is for the US government to implement «a hardline policy that prohibits direct or indirect financial transactions with all Venezuelan government entities, including beneficiaries.»

Machado’s objective, as added the PSUV leader, is to pressure the Venezuelan people to take to the streets, «no matter the cost.» This request, according to Cabello’s source, was made during a virtual meeting with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and second-level State Department officials.

At this meeting, the Venezuelan extreme right wing politician reportedly expressed her frustration at not fulfilling her intention to have Edmundo González Urrutia govern the country by now. In response to this criticism, as the leader of the red party explained, the US officials attributed the failure «to the ineptitude of the Venezuelan opposition itself» and to the ability of national government authorities to dismantle terrorist plots in recent years.
